Nokia C2-02 review

As Nokia smartphones try to hold the line against the storming droids, more and more pressure falls on their feature-phone squad. It will be up to those foot soldiers to buy enough time for the heavily armed Windows Phone 7 reinforcements to arrive. The Nokia C2-02 is the first of a trio of cell phones to try and make the most of what’s probably the last remaining stronghold of Nokia – easy to use phones with good looks and an attractive price tag. The Touch and Type series has been very good and even though they scrapped the name, the spirit will live on.

The Nokia C2-02 has a simple, clean design that does not draw attention to itself. This might not be the slimmest cell phone, nor does it have an expensive finish, but it still looks good. The rounded shape, the faux-metal at the bottom and the beautiful matte plastic work good combination to let the phone a more solid, professional look than you would expect in this class. Fingerprints are an issue on the screen and chrome-like accent at the bottom.

Here is my collection of mobile games for Nokia C2 series. The Youtube Video shows how to get free games from zamob.

The Nokia Astound is an innovative design and affordable smartphone for T-Mobile, but there are other budget-friendly options to provide better performance and that are easier to use.

For all the criticism that Nokia gets, one thing it is always outstanding is make solid hardware, and the Nokia Astound is no exception. The Astound made with high quality materials, including a glass display and stainless-steel battery door, it feels like a premium device.

At just 4.62 by 2.24 by 0.41 inches (HWD),and weighs 4.58 ounces, which is a good departure from some of the larger smartphones we’ve seen of late. The Astound is attractive to boot, with its frosty metal color and chrome accents. The phone’s AMOLED capacitive touch screen measures 3.5 inches diagonally and has a 640 x 360 pixels resolution. Admittedly, it is not the latest and greatest display technology, but considering the price, we did not expect.

Nokia X5-01 review:

Sometimes, Nokia will experiment with form factor and shape. The Nokia X5-01 possibly is the kind of phone just leave you wondering. Is it having a bad slider day or a great square day? No, the Nokia X5 is better than that. It’s a neat and chubby Symbian smartie with a QWERTY full keyboard and a 5-megapixel camera. The struggle to offer a better text input system while maintaining the size down is still ongoing. Touchscreen offers a variety of answers, but nothing yet really beats an old-fashioned hardware QWERTY keyboard.Nokia X5’s four-row keyboard has a long list of applications – from SMS and email, to instant messaging and social networking. The Nokia X5-01 sports a dedicated media key too – it’s no square when it comes to having fun.The 5 megapixel camera a is a constant source of photos to share with friends and you can use Wi-Fi to do it, no need for a data plan. The Nokia X5-01 is a full-blown smartphone too – 600MHz and 256MB RAM put it within a stone’s throw of the Nokia N8 performance. And the Ovi Store is constantly to grow with new and useful apps.

The LG Revolution may not be the revolutionary cell phone it claims to be, but it is still a solid Verizon 4G Android phone with the bonus of the Netflix app. When the LG Revolution was first announced at CES 2011, many industry pundits believe it would be the LG Optimus 2X’s U.S. version, a dual-core smartphone that was announced one month prior for the international market.Proved that the Optimus 2X would be in the form of the T-Mobile G2X a few months later, and that the Revolution was instead a result of a partnership with Verizon Wireless. In fact, the Revolution comes with a slew of Verizon-branded applications, and may be painful, its search and maps functions are provided by Bing instead of Google. But the Revolution isn’t all bad. It’s the third-ever 4G-LTE mobile phone to grace Verizon’s lineup, and its 4.3-inch display is quite amazing.Although it does not have a dual-core processor, its 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor is certainly no less. The Revolution is also one of the first mobile phones to support the new Netflix app for Android–the app is actually pre-installed on the phone.

Thanks to great call quality and its solid keyboard, the Samsung Freeform III is a solid messaging phone at a reasonable price, despite some shortcomings. Those already familiar with the Freeform II will need just one look at the Freeform III to guess its lineage. Samsung has adjusted the design to round the corners more and slightly enlarged the display.Otherwise, it is almost the same matte black phone with its unique dish-shaped soft-key buttons. Standing a little taller at 4.4 by 2.4 by 0.4 inches (HWD), the Freeform III has a 2.4-inch QVGA display with a 320×240-pixel resolution, compared with the 2.2-inch screen of the Freeform II. It weighs only 3.3 ounces.

Back to the screen: the screen is wider than it is tall (a bonus for most pictures) and looks relatively bright and colorful, except in direct sunlight, when the screen looks bleached out, an unfortunate reality for most mobile phones. You will be able to adjust the brightness and the backlight time. Although there are two soft keys and a four-way directional pad with a central select button, the onscreen navigation could be a bit more smoothly. That means, there is an easy, graphical menu layout to access tools and applications, and there’s a shortcut so you can scroll through a number of the additional apps, such as MetroWeb, without going through the menu

The LG Enlighten is a solid budget android smartphone for Verizon Wireless customers that like to text and email. Some of the design decisions are questionable, and surprisingly, it drops down in screen resolution compared to its predecessor, the LG Ally. But for the most part, the Enlighten phone will serve you well if you are looking for a basic smartphone with a hardware QWERTY keyboard. The Enlighten measures 4.5 inches long by 2.3 inches wide by 0.58 inch deep and weighs 5.5 ounces that’s a bit heavy, but not terrible given the big keyboard. It’s made of dark grey plastic, with a soft touch back cover. The 3.2-inch, 320-by-480 pixel capacitive touch screen is bright and colorful, and typical for a budget Android phone, even though it’s considerably poor than the LG Ally’s 480-by-800 pixel panel was. Fortunately, it’s still fine for basic tasks, and the small size is good, since you will not be typing on the screen much.

The Huawei Impulse 4G provides a lot of Android power for not much cash—just $29.99 up front with a two-year contract. The Impulse 4G measures 4.7 inches tall by 2.5 inches wide and 0.5 inch thick, and weighs 4.4 ounces. The front panel is glass, while the back panel is a rubbery soft-touch material. A plastic, smoked chrome accent band runs around the sides. Here are four touch-enabled buttons beneath the touch screen; when the backlight disappears, they can not find in the dark. The 3.8-inch capacitive touch screen offers 480-by-800-pixel resolution. You can use the Impulse 4G as a mobile hotspot for up to five devices with the proper plan. Overall call quality was fine, with a clear tone in the earpiece, and reasonably clear transmissions through the microphone. The battery life was great for an excellent 8 hours and 31 minutes of talk time. There are five main screens you can swipe between, and customize with widgets, like on other Android phones. Overall performance was good, but sluggish at times.

The Motorola Flipout has a spacious keyboard and a functional midrange feature set.The Motorola Flipout exceeds on some levels, but its unique design does not do it any favors as a touch-screen smartphone. It is always a risk to define a handset by its design; even the most unique and eye-catching mobile phone must also be easy to use.Motorola tried to strike that balance with its new Flipout for AT&T, but in the end Android phone falls short. Like the equally square Nokia 7705 Twist, the Flipout has a great keyboard that would make it a perfect communications device. And if Moto had stopped there, we’d be singing its praises. But as a smartphone, the Flipout just does not work. Its camera is only average, its data connection is slow, and its display is too small for Web browsing, multimedia, and the touch-screen interface. Yet, we would not say that the Flipout is a total loss.It runs the 2.1 version of the Android OS, good call quality, and it provides some features not common on Android phones.

The Motorola ES400S is a business-centric phone with a rough exterior, a biometric fingerprint sensor,a 3.2 megapixel camera, a bar code scanner function, and a large number of enterprise-level applications. The first thing to note is that the Motorola ES400S is not a handset for consumers. In fact, Sprint and Motorola are pitching it as a mobile Enterprise Digital Assistant (EDA) for industry workers in field sales and service, retail, and health care. You can not even buy the phone if you are not buying it via a business account. So if you are looking for the latest multimedia wonder, you should look elsewhere–the ES400S is all business and proud of it.This focus on business might also explain why the ES400S has Windows Mobile 6.5 instead of the latest Windows Phone 7.Most companies in the world is still deeply rooted in older versions of Windows and Exchange,so the older version of Windows Mobile would be more compatible with enterprise applications and most IT departments. We are certainly disappointed by this- – just because it is a business phone does not mean it to lag behind everything else. The use of a stylus is also incredibly old-school.

MyTouch 4G Slide and MyTouch 3G Slide

In many ways, the MyTouch 4G Slide is similar to the MyTouch 3G Slide that came before it, and indeed to the MyTouch 4G. It has the same smooth plastic body with the slightly prominent chin at its base, plus four physical keys and touch pad. It has the color of khaki and black. The MyTouch 4G Slide is a bit higher and thinner than its predecessor, but ultimately it is a huskier phone, at 4.8 inches tall by 2.4 inches wide by 0.5 inch thick and weight of 6.5 ounces. In contrast, the 3G version measures 4.6 by 2.4 by 0.6 inches (HWD) and weighs 5.8 ounces. There is no doubt ,the 4G Slide is a heavy hunk of hardware , but it’s also sturdy. The extra little bit of height accommodates the phone’s 3.7-inch, WVGA Super LCD screen, up from the 3G Slide’s 3.4 inch HVGA display. It’s a nice, bright screen, but the 800×400-pixel resolution is not as stellar as some.
